This test used `Site::is_local_addr()` as part of a filtering criterion, perhaps
unintentionally. The fact that it applied to all tested addresses kept a Zeek
process from exiting, failing the test. It also doesn't need to prioritize its
zeek_init() handler.
The seen/file-names script relies on f$info$filename to be populated.
For HTTP and other network protocols, however, this field is only
populated during file_over_new_connection() that's running after
file_new().
Use the file_new() event only for files without connections and
file_over_new_connection() implies that f$conns is populated, anyway.
Special case SMB to avoid finding files twice, because there's a
custom implementation in seen/smb-filenames.zeek.
Fixes#2647
Zeek function types are serialized as a broker::vector, but the
unserialization logic for Zeek set/table types that use a function for
as an index incorrectly identified it as a composite-index, which also
use broker::vector, rather than a singleton-index, and makes such
unserialization fail.
A general example where this failure can happen in practice is when
trying to unserialize a connection record for which there's a
Conn::RemovalHook, since that's a set[function], and a specific case of
that is use of the Intel Framework in a Zeek cluster.
- Use `-b` most everywhere, it will save time.
- Start some intel tests upon the input file being fully read instead of
at an arbitrary time.
- Improve termination condition for some sumstats/cluster tests.
- Filter uninteresting output from some supervisor tests.
- Test for `notice_policy.log` is no longer needed.
Haven't checked different build configurations yet, but all except
a few SumStats tests are stable for me now. The external tests
are also completely failing, but haven't looked at those yet.
* Generally increase timeouts for tests that have recent transient
failures
* Change any test that relied on `btest-bg-wait -k` since that's never
going to play with with CI systems. Instead, we always need to have
a well-defined termination condition in the test itself (and most
already did, so didn't really need the `-k` flag anyway).
This also installs symlinks from "zeek" and "bro-config" to a wrapper
script that prints a deprecation warning.
The btests pass, but this is still WIP. broctl renaming is still
missing.
#239
* 'master' of https://github.com/hosom/zeek:
Normalize the intel seen filename for smb.
load smb-filenames in scripts/policy/frameworks/intel/seen/__load__.bro
Add SMB::IN_FILE_NAME to Intel::Where enum
Support filenamess for SMB files
I added a test case
The extension mechanism is basically the one that Seth introduced with
his intel extensions. The main difference lies in using a hook instead
of an event. An example policy implements whitelisting.
