This field isn't required by a worker and it's certainly not used by a
worker to listen on that specific interface. It also isn't required to
be set consistently and its use in-tree limited to the old load-balancing
script.
There's a bif called packet_source() which on a worker will provide
information about the actually used packet source.
Relates to zeek/zeek#2877.
This test triggered ubsan by putting a function with the wrong type
as a post-processor into the .shadow file. Don't do that.
Likely Zeek should provide a better error message, but hand-crafting
.shadow files isn't what is normally done and this is to fix the
master build for now.
Populating log_metadata during zeek_init() is too late for the
leftover-log-rotation functionality, so do it at script parse time.
Also, prepend archiver_ to the log_metadata table and encoding function
due to being in the global namespace and to align with the
archiver_rotation_format_func. This hasn't been in a released
version yet, so fine to rename still.
Closes#3112
* jgras/topic/jgras/cluster-init-tests:
Simplify btests using cluster_started event.
Remove old cluster start tests.
Reverted removal of old cluster start tests during merge.
publish_hrw() and publish_rr() are excluded from type checking due to their
variadic nature. Passing a wrong type for the pool argument previously triggered
an abort, now the result is runtime errors. This isn't great, but it's
better than crashing Zeek.
Closes#2935
- Use `-b` most everywhere, it will save time.
- Start some intel tests upon the input file being fully read instead of
at an arbitrary time.
- Improve termination condition for some sumstats/cluster tests.
- Filter uninteresting output from some supervisor tests.
- Test for `notice_policy.log` is no longer needed.
Node-specific topic prefix subscriptions/publications now add a trailing
slash like "zeek/cluster/node/<name>/". Without the trailing slash,
messages attempting to target "proxy-10" may also be sent to "proxy-1"
since subscription matching is prefix-based.
* Generally increase timeouts for tests that have recent transient
failures
* Change any test that relied on `btest-bg-wait -k` since that's never
going to play with with CI systems. Instead, we always need to have
a well-defined termination condition in the test itself (and most
already did, so didn't really need the `-k` flag anyway).
For backward compatibility when reading values, we first check
the ZEEK-prefixed value, and if not set, then check the corresponding
BRO-prefixed value.
This also installs symlinks from "zeek" and "bro-config" to a wrapper
script that prints a deprecation warning.
The btests pass, but this is still WIP. broctl renaming is still
missing.
#239
Still finding it to not be foolproof enough to enable generally for all
nodes in a cluster. Specific/advanced use-cases may still consider
enabling, possibly just for specific nodes.
This enables explicit forwarding of events matching a given topic
prefix. Even if a receiving node has an event handler, it will not
be raised if the event was sent along a topic that matches a previous
call to Broker::forward().
Mostly trying to standardize the way tests sleep for arbitrary amounts
of time to make it easier to tell at which particular point the
unit test actually may need the timeout interval increased (or else
debugged further).
Sometimes manager node was shutting everything down before others had
a chance to generate output. It now waits for all nodes to fully
connect with each other.
* origin/topic/robin/parallel-btest:
Updating submodule(s).
Adding group "comm" to communication tests for parallelizing execution with new btest version.
This is in preparation for the merge with the parallel btest branch.
